Differences between neodymium magnets and ferrite magnets.
There are five differences between neodymium magnets and ferrite magnets.
1.Magnetic force.
The neodymium magnets have three times bigger power than ferrite magnets.
2. Max Working temperature
The working temperature of neodymium magnets are lower than ferrite magnets.
For example.N35 magnets or N52 magnets can only work less than 80°C.
42SH neodymium magnets can work less than 150°C.
But the ferrite magnets can work at 250°C.
The ferrite magnets have better demagnetization resistance than neodymium magnets under high temperature.
3.Hardness.
The neodymium magnets are not brittle as ferrite magnets.
When the ferrite magnets fell down on the earth from high leval, they will be broken into several pieces. But neodymium magnets may only lose a small edge or no change.
4.Coating.
Neodymium magnets have coating plated to get corrosion resistance.
There are nickel coating.Zinc or NiCuNi+epoxy and Sn coating on the neodymium magnets.
The ferrite magnets are metallic oxide. They have no coating plated on the surface.
They have good corrosion resistance.
5.Price
The ferrite magnets are much cheaper than the neodymium magnets.
